Wolfram Lorenzen, piano
Wolfram Lorenzen studied with Klaus Linder, Ludwig Hoffmann, Paul Badura-Skoda and participated in masterclasses held by Wilhelm Kempff, among others. He
has won many important international music competitions.
In 1982 he was awarded first prize at the Sixth International Piano Competition in Montevideo, Uruguay. Since then, numerous concert tours have led him to all countries over
the world. He has performed as a soloist with the Bamberg and Berlin Symphonic Orchestras, the SWF Radio Symphony Orchestra, to name but a few, under such conductors as Matthias Bamert, Ernest Bour, Sergiu Comissiona, Michael Gielen, Milan Horvat, Heinz Wallberg.
He has made guest appearances at important music festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Flanders Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Recently he recorded the great piano chamber music by Max Reger.
Lorenzen’s first CD recording of Robert Schumann’s piano works appeared in 2006 in honor of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s death.
His second volume with works by Robert and Clara Schumann appeared in 2010 in honor of the bicentennial of Robert Schumann's birth.
