biography
Katherina Müller joined the Berlin State Opera Studio after completing her studies at the college of Music in Leipzig. She won prizes at the Intern. J. S. Bach Competition in Leipzig and at the Mozart Festival Competition in Würzburg.
Her engagement at the State Theatre at Gärtnerplatz in Munich followed a concert performance career, which included performances in Switzerland, France, Spain, Poland, Russia and Israel.
In 2004, she made her Japan debut with Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem. She has performed as a guest in lyric soprano roles at the Theatre Basel, the Théâtre du Châtelet Paris, the Prague State Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, the Baden-Baden Festival Theatre and the Aalto Theatre in Essen.
During her career, she has worked with distinguished conductors, such as Christoph von Dohnányi, Sebastian Weigle, Stefan Soltesz and stage directors, like Brigitte Fassbaender and Nikolaus Lehnhoff. Performing in Henze's Elegie für junge Liebende at the Berlin State Opera, she also worked with Philippe Jordan.
