biography

Lessons:
Yorck Felix Speer´s singing-instructions were given by Theodor Greß, a former principal repetitor of the Hamburger Staatsoper, Prof. Alan Speer, and Hanna Schwarz.
He also attended masterclasses of Brigitte Fassbaender, Edda Moser, Rudolf Piernay, James King and Andreas Schmidt. He is an award-winner of the Queen-Sonja-Music-Competition in Oslo.
He studied German languages and Lutheran theology and has been working as a freelancing concert-singer since 1996.

He has performed with the DSO Berlin, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Bamberg -Symphonic, the Gewandhausorchestra Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Orchestre de Champs-Elyssee Paris, the Academy of Ancient Music Berlin (Akamus), Les Musiciens du Louvre, the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, Malmö Symphonic, the Wurttemberg State orchestra Stuttgart, Concerto Köln, Copenhagen- Sinfoniorkester, the Kammer-philharmonie Bremen, the Capella Istropolitana, Basel chamber orchestra, Rundfunksinfonieorchester Berlin, the Munich Bachsoloists, the Russian National Symphonic, the SR Deutsche Radiophilharmonie, the Orquestra Sinfonica de Sao Paulo, the Munich Bachorchestra, the Mariinskji symphonic, and also with the Swedish Radiosymphonic and –choir. Repertoire:
His concert repertoire has a wide spread from Monteverdi, Schütz, Buxtehude, Bach, and Händel, via Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, to Rossini, Brahms, Dvorak and Verdi. Beside that he also took part in performances of less known pieces like Franck´s “Les Beatitudes”, Elgar´s “The Apostles”, Schumann´s “Faust –Scenes”, Bloch´s “Avodath Hakodesh” and Schmidt´s “Buch mit sieben Siegeln”.
Guest contracts has bound him to the Opera in Oldenburg, the Cologne Opera, and the Nationale Reiseoper Enschede. In 2013 he made his debut as King Marke in Tristan und Isolde at the Reisopera Enschede, 2014 he will debut as Ochs at the Staatstheater Kassel, and with the Missa Solemnis at the Semperoper under Ivor Bolton´s baton. Further on he will perform on the opening concert of the SHMF under Hengelbrock´s baton and will take part in a recording of Bach´s St. John Passion under Marc Minkowski´s musical direction.
