For the edition VIOLIN SOLO, which presents the music for violin solo from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present, Renate Eggebrecht has now issued as her third solo recital the early works for violin by the young Paul Hindemith: the autograph Studies from 1916, his op. 11, no. 6 (1918), and a sonata movement plus a fragment (1925) are followed by the two Sonatas op. 31, nos. 1 and 2 from 1924. A chance to become acquainted with the violinist Hindemith.
Anatol Vieru’s Capriccio from 1997 is a highly virtuoso, extremely original solo piece. And with the Partita (1976) by Vladimir Martynov, Renate Eggebrecht presents for the first time an emblematic work of Russian Minimal Music with arte-povera appeal.
The recordings of several of the pieces by Hindemith as well as the works by Vieru and Martynov are naturally world premieres. An intense, thrilling release!
